City-wide
Luminaria Night is a beautiful and enchanted evening when neighborhoods line their streets with luminaria – white bags illuminated by votive candles. The luminaria are a symbol of unity and caring for those less fortunate. Luminaria Night started in 1998 in a small neighborhood in Bethlehem to benefit one family in need. Today, celebrating its 22nd year, Luminaria Night has grown into a valley-wide event connecting neighborhoods together in a beautiful evening of light and giving. All of the proceeds from the sale of Luminaria kits, go to New Bethany Ministries, benefiting thousands of individuals and families in need. Since its affiliation with New Bethany Ministries 15 years ago, Luminaria Night has raised over $1,000,000.
New Bethany Ministries is a faith-based, non-discriminatory agency providing programming to the hungry, homeless, poor, and mentally ill of the Lehigh Valley.
