Start off in the main lobby, built in 1922 in the midst of the “Roaring Twenties.” Swing by The Tap Room, festive with holiday spirit and oversized lighted ornaments for a nice pause for a Hot Toddy before continuing on your tour. Continue to the Mural Ballroom, named for the outstanding murals painted in 1936 by famed American artist George Gray. Be surrounded by a glistening 15-foot tree and wreaths emulating the Christmas spirit. Enjoy the aromas and splendor of our on-site restaurant, 1741 On the Terrace, as you make your way through our “Christmas in the Garden” themed room. Recently restored to replicate the original solarium concept of 1922, this room offers a fantastic view of the National Historic Landmark District that is truly breathtaking. Lastly, take a stroll to the second floor mezzanine overlooking the lobby and the grand marble staircase. You’ll have a fantastic view, not only of the merry holiday crowd, but also the outstanding hand-painted nativity display!
